Nostalgia Immersion and

Play “Therapy” for Women

I am also here while piecing the page back together to officially talk about something else that Aubrey exclusively offers- Nostalgia Play Therapy and Nostalgia Immersion for women.

When I showed up, Aubrey apologized because she was currently renovating (name of thing redacted to not spoil the surprise). I started laughing because no way could anyone be in possession of that. Then I stepped inside and saw that was indeed what Aubrey was in possession of and working on. I started squealing like a three-year-old child.

Then she took me to the space that she does what I’m going to call nostalgic play therapy. I asked if I could move in. It’s just the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen. The attention to detail is perfection. You should absolutely bring a handful of your favorite childhood toys, I’d say no more than five. But if you don’t have them anymore no worries because it’s really likely that Aubrey does.

If you were a little girl anywhere from the 1970s to the early 2000s, you need this. I likely don’t know you personally, but if you’re a woman, I know you need this. And because you will lose your absolute mind when you see the stuff that Aubrey has.

By Appointment Only

And not only can you do physical appointments at her “office”, I use the term loosely because again when you see what she has there… she also travels because and I quote,” People that need this the most often are at jobs where they’re lucky to get a half hour break or even if you get an hour break by the time you get to where you need to go in Rockford, it’s time to go back to work.” As long as “you have a space where no one is going to bother you”.

Full disclosure her sessions aren’t cheap but they’re cheaper than a lot of therapists I know and the awesome factor is priceless. which if you factor this completely unique and unreplicated experience it’s dirt cheap.

Disclaimer she is not a licensed clinical therapist in the state of Illinois. And she will be the first to tell you that this is not actual clinical or play therapy and would never promote it as such. But the term play therapy is the best way to describe what she does. She will also stress that this is not clinical therapy and should be considered for entertainment purposes only. Get it? Entertainment purposes, play therapy? Well I thought it was clever.

Reviews for the Nostalgia Experiences

Driving in from Chicago is worth it for my retro therapy. That’s what I call it. And it’s worth every inch of Chicago traffic and every cent. I always make sure to book a double session, whether we are doing play therapy or spending time time traveling. The fact that Aubrey does what you’d expect anyone in a home in the pre-2000’s to be doing…sometimes she carries on with her day like I’m not there. Then I get to pretend that I really live here. I just watch tv. An actual tv. People pay for stranger things. It does really feel like I’m back in the 90s!

You tell Aubrey what kind of experience you want. If you just want to play with the toys, or have the real life experience. From that information she steers things the way that would give you the most realistic time. And she has things I haven’t seen since I was ten years old. It felt like I was at my Aunt’s place for the summer. And if you didn’t have cool aunts, well now you do!

Amanda, Madison

I learned about this from my daughter who wanted a 90’s experience, even though she wasn’t even alive then. But when she started talking to me about her experience, I knew I had to try it for myself. This was a dream come true! I really got to go back to the 80’s! For the record, she will ask when you were born and tailor things to you. It looked like a fancier version of the house I grew up in. You really are back in time here, and I know that’s the point.

She knows the actual recipe for Pudding Pops! The real recipe! Not the one that is circulating online. I got to find that out when I showed up for my session and it was lunchtime. She gave me an appropriately 80’s lunch and an actual pudding pop. I was not expecting any of that. This place is the real deal. The kitchen I ate lunch in looked exactly like my best friends’ kitchen. Absolute heaven. I’ve been to retro themed places before, and this blows all of them out of the water.
