Innovative approaches to health, wellness and fun!

We are very lucky that “Miss” Aubrey has come to us from New York City! Because not only does she have an unmatched and phenomenal skill as a professional dancer and actor, she has an amazing plethora of skills that are not often seen in this area. Particularly another specialty of hers is a wide variety of bodywork, focused on trauma and Neurodivergence. Please note that none of these are a replacement for medical healthcare or mental healthcare.

Sport and Stress Massage

Two very exclusive massage modalities are available by appointment. Sport Massage for athletes of all kinds, and Stress Massage for anyone who is or has undergone a lot of stress or has a history of childhood trauma.

Both massages are performed with clients fully clothed. Please be certain to wear cotton fabric that you can move in. Each massage is tailored to individual client needs and preferences.

Energy Work

Miss Aubrey offers specially tailored energy work that is unique to each client and their needs. She often combines energy work with massage and pressure therapy or movement therapy to help resolve clients physical problems.

What Is Energy Work?

Energy work is a holistic practice that aims to manipulate the natural energy fields within and around the body to promote healing, balance, and well-being. Energy healing encompasses various modalities such as Reiki, Qi Gong, and acupuncture, and focus on directing or redistributing energy flow to alleviate physical, emotional, or spiritual imbalances.

It is not uncommon for practitioners to pray regarding a client so if you prefer not to have prayer involved in your session you may indicate that.

Practitioners often use their hands, intention, and sometimes tools like crystals to clear blockages, such as when your shoulders feel tight when you are stressed, or your stomach bothers you. The goal is to help restore harmony, and stimulate the body's natural healing processes.

Isolation/Loneliness Abatement and Body Doubling

Humans need connection with other people to live, being lonely is as bad on the body as it is on the spirit.

This is a special kind of work that can be done with ages 8 and above. If you’ve noticed yourself or your child is beginning to isolate, you haven’t felt like getting up and doing anything, or as simple as you want to go do something fun this weekend but don’t want to go by yourself. This is specially geared for individuals who have difficulty making or maintaining friendships, those who are isolating out of depression or grief, or those who often find themselves in ADHD Paralysis, wanting to get up and do things, but unable to. It also encompasses the need (present in many cultures but often absent in the US) of doing daily tasks with others vs solo such as cleaning the house, going to the salon, grocery shopping or going to the DMV.

Isolation/Loneliness Abatement is a form of energetic re-charge. It gives validation and love to a spirit that often feels neither. And once this need is met, very often you will find that new friends and opportunities find you. This work shows the most benefit quit often for young girls, but is also very well utilized by adult women.

Some forms of this take on therapeutic or mental health related angles, and while practitioners have extensive training in mental health and trauma, no one assisting clients in Isolation Abatement is functioning in the role of a mental health practitioner during IA sessions. Empowering Minds encourages all clients to address any trauma or mental health issues with a certified mental health professional.

Body Doubling

Body Doubling encompasses the need (present in many cultures but often absent in the US) of doing daily tasks with others vs solo such as cleaning the house, going to the salon, grocery shopping or going to the DMV.

Due to the nature of this work, clients and practitioners are kept in the strictest confidenciality. You will not be informed of your practitioner until they have confirmed that they do not know you in any capacity that might have the potential to make for any uncomfortable or awakwardness.

Tips: For Teens and Children a physical activity that allows for movement and talking at the same time is preferable. The first session is going to be awkward for the first five to ten minutes and having something to do in a neutral location is ideal. Common activities are going to the mall, ice skating roller skating, visiting animal shelters. Activities that don’t work well gaming, sports, going to the library.

(translated into “English” by a Millenial mom)

“At first it was really weird because my mom said I was going to do some therapy at the mall (I, mom, lied a bit). Not the first time I’ve done therapy, but going to the mall was different so I went. Aubrey was cool. At first it was weird, but we were just shopping and she wasn’t talking to me about anything weird like a therapist would. She talked to me like I was her friend.”

Mom-“They met up for four sessions. The third session, with the other mother’s permission Aubrey and my daughter met up with another client of Aubrey’s that she thought would get along well with my daughter. Her fourth session was with the other girl as well. And now instead of having no one to do things with my little girl can hang out with Miss Aubrey (and will ask for this) or her new friend. The girls have been getting together regularly. They would not have met each other otherwise because my daughter previously only existed in her room.”

This is a combo of therapy and finally getting my kid to listen to what I say! I told my daughter a hundred times not to be around the boys she hangs out with. At least a hundred times. Of course I told Aubrey about this issue ahead of time. After session three my daughter says that night, “I think I won’t talk to (names omitted) anymore. Aubrey said they don’t seem like they really care about me.” I said it 100x. But it took another adult saying the same thing for it to click.”

Aubrey is a lifesaver, literally.

Aubrey let me know that “something didn’t feel right”, and wanted to book several sessions in a row to get to the bottom of it. She knew from her first session my daughter wasn’t likely to tell me about it. Turns out my girl was feeling much worse than I thought she was. She was going to kill herself. After finding this out and talking it through with Aubrey during their session, Aubrey called me in and helped my daughter explain what she’d been feeling and why. I made sure my daughter continued having sessions with Aubrey on top of seeing a regular therapist. Anna said Aubrey helped her feel good about herself again.

I know this isn’t a thing, but Aubrey is a match-maker for friends. For kids who are friendless. My daughter is an amazing individual and it breaks my heart that no one at her school sees that. Kids with “invisible” autism often seem to be treated that way. Can’t recommend her enough! PS Aubrey low key vets other people’s children for you! It matters who your kid is friends with.
